Långeberga Urban Village is a city planning project situated on the border between Gothenburg and Mölndal municipality in Sweden. We wanted to create a new neighbourhood with smaller businesses that focuses on activities, detailed shopping and city farming.
The greenery from Älvgårdsbergen spills down on the area and creates parks and green yards.
The concept of the project is creating three ”noder” connected by walk paths.
A bus line is put going through the neighbourhood and a tram line along the ___ gata south of the areas.
The area is build on in three different stages. The first one (blue) contains a lot of housing surrounding a park with an old industrial building converted to smaller urban farming houses.
The second stage creates a new center focusing on detail shopping, schools, sport facilities and a conversion of the old shopping mall into a smaller shopping street.
The last and third stage (orange) is focused on housing surrounding an activities center.
The zoomed in area shows the industrial building turned in the urban farming houses, a typical housing block where apartment buildings and townhouses share a common yard.
